Tips for Pet Grooming and Shedding: Using a DeShedding Tool
There is no way to stop our Pets from shedding. It’s inevitable that our Pets will shed to get rid of old, damaged or unneeded hair. Some breeds grow more hair in the winter months to keep them warm, then shed it during the summer to keep them cool. Skin disorders and poor diet can also cause excessive shedding. DeShedding Tools and proper grooming will reduce and control shedding.
It is essential to brush regularly, especially during seasonal changes. Brushing your dog daily is a good idea for most breeds. Regular brushing makes their coats softer and cleaner, making them less susceptible to shedding. It will also remove parasites that can cause irritation to the skin and more shedding. This can also prevent cats from ingesting more hair during self-grooming, leading them to develop hair balls.
It’s fun to brush your pet regularly to keep an eye on any changes in the skin or coat. Ask your groomer or vet if you notice something unusual.
Bathing regularly is important and can reduce shedding. Use only pet shampoo. Human shampoo can cause irritation, dandruff and infections. Buy a shampoo that is formulated specifically for your pet. If your cat’s coat is oily, smelly or discolored it may be time to take a shower. It is a good idea to brush your pet before you shower. Trimming their nails will also help to prevent more scratching.
To dry your pet, towel-dry first. When using a hand-blower to dry your pet after towel drying, make sure you only use cool heat and not high.
Diet and nutrition are essential for healthy skin and hair. Feeding your pet with vitamins or advanced nutritional foods will keep their skin and coat healthy.
It may seem like a quick fix to reduce shedding but shaving the hair of your pet is not recommended. Shaving can disrupt the pet’s natural shedding cycle, and interfere with their ability to regulate blood temperature.
