Miniature Kittens

Teacup kittens are not a breed, but rather an outline of cats that have a smaller body size than the average. Teacup kittens come in a variety of breeds. The smallest cats from one breed are crossed with the smallest cats of another to produce these tiny kittens.

A female cat will weigh between 10-14 pounds, while a male cat will weigh between 12-17 pounds. A female teacup cat will weigh 3 to 6.5 pounds, while a male teacup cat will weigh up to 7.5 pounds. If a teacup cat is a real one, then weight may be an important factor. Sellers may try to convince you that a little kitten will remain small, but this is not always true. Just because a kitten weighs 10 pounds does not make it a teacup.

Two types of dwarfism can cause their small size. Anchondroplastic is the first type, in which the gene, by mutation, affects bone growth hormones. Second, primordial dwarfism occurs in nature.

The MiniPer breed is the most popular of all teacup dogs. Cher Simmit developed them in California, by crossing Persians with Exotics. The result was a hypoplastic dwarf whose body proportions were smaller than those of the Persian or Exotic quality. MiniPaw is a hybrid that carries the primordial and anchodroplastic genes. The combination of the two dwarfism gene produces a cat that has small proportions, shortened legs and is somewhat deformed.

The Lambkin is a cross between a Munchkin and a Selkirk Rex. This breed is still considered experimental and very rare. They need a curly soft coat similar to a lamb’s coat, hence their name. To keep them rich, they need to be groomed regularly. They need to be easy-going and affectionate. They’re usually very healthy, with an extended tail and short legs.

Napoleon is the newest breed. The Napoleon is a mix of the Persian and the Munchkin. It was named after Napoleon. The hybrids combine the best of both breeds, with their short legs, round eyes and colourful coat. This kitten is often described as being small, sweet and round. It’s also very playful and loving. The length of the dense coat will determine how often you groom your cat. Weekly grooming is recommended for a shorter coat, while more extensive coats require frequent brushing.

Inbreeding can cause some health problems. They can range from neurological and cardio-vascular problems to deformities, and even a shorter lifespan. Breeders who are professionals match cats carefully to ensure that they produce healthy kittens. Unscrupulous breeders may not be as considerate, so it’s important to buy from a registered breeder.

The majority of teacup kittens are crosses between Persians and Exotics. The most sought-after of the small breeds. Toy versions of these breeds share the same physical characteristics and traits as their quality counterparts. They will lose some of the kitten-like behaviors as they mature but they’ll still be affectionate and loving.
